NILIN, West Bank (AFP)--Hundreds of Palestinians, Israelis, and international activists gathered outside the occupied West Bank village of Nilin on Sunday to protest against the extension of Israel's separation wall.

At least three people were wounded by rubber bullets and another eight were treated for tear gas inhalation when Israeli troops dispersed the protest, the organisers said.

The villagers say they mobilized last month when the Israeli army told them it would confiscate some 2,500 dunams (620 acres) of land for the separation wall, which Israel insists is necessary to prevent attacks from the territory. read more »

TEL AVIV, Israel, May 30 (UPI) -- Six Palestinians have been injured by fire from Israeli Defense Forces trying to stop a Hamas-organized protest near a Gaza border crossing, Palestinians said.

The incident took place as thousands of demonstrators approached in protest of the siege Israel has imposed on Gaza. Palestinians report that six were injured by live gunfire.

The IDF said soldiers used tear gas and fired warning shots against the Palestinian protesters in order to prevent them from crossing into Israel through the border fence., reported YNET news. read more »

Our intelligence agencies seemingly put the kibosh on this when they announced it looked like Iran had abandoned its nuclear weapons program, if it ever had one, several years ago. Then the International Atomic Energy Agency said they had no evidence of an arms program and that Iran was cooperating. Israel continued to insist the Iranians were trying to make the bomb and so did the Bushites here at home. The fact there is no evidence of the bomb is itself evidence of the bomb and the cleverness of the deceitful Iranians. So goes the logic of imperialism. read more »
