How to make sure noise complaints are NOT taken seriously

Here is why someone who (legitimately) complains about noise from Media Island's house late at night is REALLY afraid of 'retaliation.'

That was me. I also was one of four complaints the police said they had about the noise, but they didn't have anyone that could respond. What is not clear was I was there 5 minutes before knocking on the door with my hand but the music was so loud no one answered. So I went home and got a hammer to make sure my knocks could be heard.

I have complained about media island's noise before but it is more than their noise that is a problem. They have gotten out of control in the last 6-8 weeks. I never used to have a problem with them. I even considered going in to talk to them and see what they were all about but didn't have the time to do it right. They seemed like an interesting place. Then about 2 months ago they became a place for parties and loud music. They set of fireworks late at night. They play loud music past 10, 11, midnight. Groups of loud individuals get drunk and talk loudly in the back yard. A pungent aroma can be smelled. Things neighbors have reported to me: They pile garbage and "recycling" things in the alley until it almost blocks the alley. They park their truck so that it blocks the behind house parking of another house. When asked to quiet down they say "f@#$ off"

I don't know what happened to media island 2 months ago but it was obvious they didn't care about their neighbors or their effect on those around them. It was almost as hough they were going out of their way to be a detriment to those around them.

When the police didn't have someone to send. I (who is not afraid of you as intoned above or spoken by some neighbors) decided to get your attention. You obviously didn't care when multiple neighbors yelled from their houses asking you to be quiet. You ignored my neighborly knocks. You don't have the courtesy to be proactively positive. So I made myself known. I let you know that it is not okay the only way that you seem to get - disrespectfully. You turned it down but then at about midnight turned it back on so I came back.

If you want to have a positive effect of the community you would take proactive measure to never have to say there was a legitimate noise complaint.

I wouldn't choose that tactic but as a neighbor I can understand the frustration. Media island talks about how they are a radio station and neighbors should realize that but they should walk out their back door and look at how close the walls of their neighbors are. They should realize that the houses to both the right and left as they face their garage/workshop from the back have bedrooms right on the other side of the outside wall that is closest to their building. The corner of the blue house has a bedroom in the corner of the lower level and the bedroom for a 3 year old on the top level.

Many people, especially kids go to bed before 10. We can accept noise until about ten, but at that point it becomes unacceptable. Media Island needs to re-evaluate how it interacts with its neighbors.

Hopefully the loud music turns off at an appropriate time tonight. They have it going loud again - we will see if they recognize the limits they have pushed and adhere to a respectful hour.

I guess people are fed up. I know I yelled over the fence asking the music be turned down a couple weeks ago and was told to fuck off.

It looks like someone finally took measures into their own hands when faced with the oppressive noise tyranny rained down by media island on its neighbors.

The Other Night

The other night they were doing fucking yardwork at 3:30 AM. This included dragging shit around, dumping piles of bottles, and even using a fucking HAMMER!!!

It is 3:30 in the God Damn Morning. You - as an organization are nothing but a disrespectful whiny piece of shit excuse for organizers if you can't even respect people enough to not do loud shit at 3:30 AM!!

I plan on filing suit against media island for inhibiting my reasonable use and enjoyment of my property. I plan on owning that house.
